Highland to reel them in at Longchamp
HIGHLAND
REEL, who has made us wait for our money by leaving the 2,000 Guineas to his
deeply impressive stablemate Gleneagles, can do the business in the French
equivalent, the Poule d’Essai des Poulains, at Longchamp on Sunday. The Aidan O’Brien-trained
colt is still one of five possible runners for Ballydoyle.
While Newmarket
would have suited his stamina profile better than Longchamp the son of
Galileo is still expected to have enough about him to land the spoils here.
Andre
Fabre could still saddle both New Bay and Make Believe, who was last seen when
narrowly beaten on his seasonal debut to Ride Like The Wind in the Prix Djebel.
There is
a safety limit of 20 for the race with 29 still in at today’s (Tuesday) first
forfeit stage.
